The birthplace of the renowned poet Yug Kavi Siddhicharan Shrestha is in the district of Okhaldhunga, situated in Koshi province of Nepal. To reach Solukhumbu district, one must pass through this district.The poetic work "Mero Pyaro Okhaldhunga" by Yug Kavi Siddhicharan Shrestha has brought fame to this district. The district earned its name from a large stone resembling an 'Okhal' (a traditional grinding stone), located at its headquarters. This stone has been conserved from all four sides. In the vicinity of this stone, a small park has been constructed, named after poet Siddhicharan Shrestha. Additionally, a poem composed by him is inscribed nearby in a plaque.
